Wind, good and bad

I was facing a 20 mph wind on the way to work today. Not unusual. The big surprise was that it was still blowing in the same direction when I came home from work. It's a cheat, but it's still nice to get home and see my average MPH up at nearly 19. It was actually pushing 20 until I got to the gravel road that's all torn up.

Our company has a kick-off meeting every April after tax season. They have it over in Livonia. Last year I rode there; it's a 75 mile round trip, and it was pretty interesting.
- it was all on paved roads, and relatively flat, just rollers. That was different.
- It wasn't a struggle at all. I felt fine when I got home, and I wasn't sore or anything the next day.
- I was back home by about 1:30 in the afternoon including 2+ hours at the meeting itself.

I'm looking forward to that again this year. Honestly, riding there is about the only good thing about these stupid meetings. They "feed" you there but it's not really enough to bother going. It's basically a back-patting fest and personally I'd rather spend a day at work.
