Holy smokes
I needed another thumb drive (one went missing) so I went out to Newegg a few days ago and just found the cheapest 8G thumb drive that got decent reviews for reasonable speed and reliability. I must have coincidentally happened across about the smallest one around too. It's so cute!
I just dumped all the episodes of "Feasting On Asphalt" onto it, tossed it into the DVD player's USB port and we watched the whole series this evening.
It's not lightning fast, but write speed with random data was just shy of 10 MB/s, which is way better than the cheapo drives I've gotten in the past, and worth the extra $8 or so this one cost over the cheapest one (it was $30).
