Book finished: Caliban's War
Caliban's War by James S.A. Corey
★★★★★
I think this is the best SF I've read this year. I have read several reviews that said it wasn't as good as the first book in the series, and though I liked that one as well, I absolutely think this one was even better. I found that I cared a LOT about all the main characters in the book, I liked them all and I cared what happened to them. That's my main measure of a story. I've read so many where I didn't give a damn about the characters, if I can care about just one of them, I count it a win. There were about 10 main characters in this book that I really wanted to win, and a number of ratfinks that I really wanted to lose, and when the good guys suffered setbacks I kept rooting for them and things mostly worked out OK in the end. Looking forward to book 3.
