October MPG

johnridleyInspired by others journals, this morning I put a couple of calcs and a little more data into my bike log spreadsheet to include the car.
For October, my average gas use while commuting was 195 MPG. 56 miles of driving, 399 miles of cycling, 2.33 gallons burned.
I did drive the car a few short non-commuting trips which are not counted, burning about half a tank this month. And of course, shopping trips are done in the minivan. That gets basically the same mileage as the Taurus, so it's not that bad.
