Weird noises in the dark
Feb. 21st, 2006 08:28 amThere's a bit of woods I ride by every morning that seems to have a lot of drama going on fairly often.
This morning, something was going Whooop, whoop, whoop continuously, while something else that sounded like a small dog went YapYapYapBarkSnarl every few seconds. The second I'm assuming was probably a fox. I'm not too sure what the other thing was.
This is along the same stretch where I've reported the other strange noises. All were within a half-mile. I wonder if I should carry a recorder sometimes, but I doubt I'd be able to get it out and running before the noise stopped. Similarly I see a lot of cool wildlife, including a few weeks ago a hawk carrying prey, but I don't think I'd ever be able to get a camera out and ready before it was gone.
