Recently I read about a revolutionary development in the struggle to enter text messages on your cell phone more quickly. Voice-to-text recognition in the phone.

So wait, they're putting a bunch of work into software so that your phone can let you talk into it and deliver the message that you just spoke to the phone at the other end.

Didn't we have the ability to transmit a spoken message to the phone on the other end already?

Is there some reason to text someone instead of calling them, apart from stealth reading capability?
