Random little things

I don't know what's spurring it, perhaps my working on the new room in the basement, but we've been picking up a few new items for the house lately. It started with the chandelier a few weeks ago. Then yesterday, on the way home from the concert, we stopped by Lowes to look for matching hallway lights, and found some lights that were < 1/2 the cost and we actually liked better. We picked up four of them, and they're now all installed. We may get a few more, there are still one or two locations that MIGHT need one, or maybe we'll find something similar but smaller.

We also picked up a torchiere+reading lamp for L's reading nook upstairs, and today J found a pretty neat table lamp for the living room.

Now if I could just get around to cleaning the place. I made the commitment to myself to put the lights up immediately; if I let them sit around for a day, they'd still be sitting in a month, and we've all had enough of that. And at least I've been pretty much keeping up with the dishes. But it's tough to keep the place decent around xmas, because it's really pretty full anyway, and when we bring in the xmas tree, stuff gets shoved around. Add to that that 1/4 of the basement is now totally cleared for construction, so the rest of the basement is packed to the ceiling, and it's kind of hard to move.

So anyway, maybe in a couple of months we'll have to have a party or something here. Some kind of mid-winter cabin fever thing.
