Scout-y scout stuff & bike-to-work day
May. 17th, 2007 09:59 pmThis evening the cub scouts met at the leader's lake cabin, played some ultimate frisbee and had a fire-lighting contest, materials gathered from the woods and each scout got to try to light with only 2 matches. The ones that failed were eventually helped by borrowing from burning fires.
We're going to have an overnight the night before the Memorial day parade, so that should be fun.
Tomorrow is bike-to-work day. Apart from the entirely non-novel biking to work that I'll be doing, at lunch I'm giving an informal bike maintenance clinic and Q&A session. Basically how to change a tire and adjust brakes, then whatever people want to talk about. It sounds like I may get as many as 6 people interested, which is about 5 more than I thought were interested in cycling at this company of 900 people.
