That's the stuff
Jul. 1st, 2007 09:55 pmI picked up a Remington power driver today, and with the help of the ladies of the house, put up a couple of anchors. Those suckers aren't moving. A very effective tool, and worth the money.
I'm wondering if I should wet the concrete first to make the adhesive I'm also using more effective. I'm using construction adhesive on the board before putting it up, but I'm thinking now that its effectiveness might be diminished by the incredibly dryness of our concrete; it may not be bonding very well.
When I put on the waterproofing on the other section of wall a few months ago, it required wetting first. I had to spray on a LOT of water before I had any sitting on the surface per instructions. It was like spraying into a furnace; the water just disappeared, accompanied by the suddenly strong and distinctive scent of portland cement.
I guess having a really, really dry basement is nothing to complain about though. But after that experience I decided to just skip the waterproofing on the rest of the project.
