Mythtv back up
May. 17th, 2008 02:49 pmWell, I set it up without the ethernet port plugged in, so I had to manually add eth0 to the /etc/network/interfaces file.
I also set the compression method wrong, software instead of hardware, so it just resolutely stuck on a black screen until I fixed that.
And the video was really flaky; it'd work OK for a few seconds, then flicker, tear, flake out. I couldn't figure it out, but finally I swapped out the capture card and the problem went away. I hope it was just badly seated and not a bad card.
Unfortunately, I did forget to back up my web stuff before I wiped the drive, so that's gone. The comics scripts are not there, but I haven't been using them much anyway lately. Really I moved almost everything to my coloc box last year anyway.
