Journal synchronization
Jan. 8th, 2009 11:16 amI just nuked my InsaneJournal entries down to zero and re-synced using ljmigrate. I decided to go with that program since it provides a very clean, usable backup of my journal on local files in standard XML format.
I just went back and changed an entry from May of 2008 as a test, and ran ljmigrate again. It picked up the change and wrote out out to my IJ in about 20 seconds. It's clearly polling the "sync" API to pick up changes since last run.
Since it's a python script, I think what I'll do is to set it up on my Myth box to sync LJ -> IJ on a nightly basis.
Has anyone found the setting that causes userpics to show up next to entries on IJ? It's kind of irritating that they don't. I just realized that they probably aren't showing up because most people haven't posted userpics to their IJ accounts yet, but even when viewing my own journal, pics don't show up next to each entry, only the default one on the side.
