Random Linux stuff
Nov. 30th, 2009 07:56 amGet a clean exit from X before trying to install a new video driver. Recovering from a rapidly respawning init 3 is a pain (boot to CD, restore old xorg.conf)
User "boinc" needs to be a member of group "video" in order to use the GPU for computations, even if the driver version is new enough.
GVFS works to get around idiotic block at work keeping me from synchronizing Tomboy Notes to Ubuntu One. Also it means I don't have to keep my data on a public cloud, but can keep it on my own server.
