Cheap repair stand
Apr. 7th, 2011 06:04 pmI decided to skip the $200 bike repair stand and try a $50 one. I don't need to have bikes up on a stand all day, just maybe for a few minutes to a half an hour every weekend or two, so I decided to give a cheap one a chance
The bike stand from Harbor Freight looked like a hunk of junk, so I ordered this one from Northern Tool for $50 plus $15 shipping.
It gets a thumbs up from me. I think it's plenty good enough for weekend tuneups. I don't know if I'd want to reface a head tube or bottom bracket on it, but since I've done that zero times ever, I'll worry about that if it happens. I just lubed my chain on it and it took about 10 seconds instead of 3 minutes.
