Metric adjustable wrenches is an old joke. This set of adjustable wrenches was in a Newegg sales flyer this morning. It comes with TWO sets of 6", 10" and 12", apparently the only difference between them is that one of them is marked on the sides with metric instead of SAE sizes. Like anyone uses the markings anyway.

And shouldn't the metric ones be 15, 25 and 30cm long, not 6", 10" and 12"?

Ugh, spent half the day going through multifunction printer spec sheets and reviews. The church needs a new one. I brought color units into the mix today but I think we will not go that way, because the operational cost more than doubles even if we never use the color and print only in black. I told them if they wanted a run of color bulletins, print to PDF and email it to me and I'd print it at home.

In the end I decided on the Brother MFC-8890dw with an add-on paper tray. With toner refills, operational costs are about 0.2 cents per page. I wish the standby current was a little lower (18 watts) but it has an ADF with duplex scanning and full duplex printing and all the other standard junk and excellent reviews, except it apparently isn't great at envelopes, but I didn't find any printers that people said were that didn't also have horrible reviews in other areas.

This is exhausting.

Podkayne of Mars by Robert Heinlein

I thought I'd read all of Heinlein's stuff, and to be honest, I may have read this before, I don't recall but my memory of what I've read from 30+ years ago isn't that great.
