Very nice ride in to work today. I only saw about 10 cars in 11 miles. That means I can just ride right in the tire track and the snow and ice on the shoulders doesn't enter into it. It should be nice at work too, I might be able to get my todo list down a bit with nobody piling more crap onto it.

I have only ridden once in the last 3 weeks or so before today, due to a combination of having to work lots of extra hours (I can't justify spending 40 extra minutes a day commuting when I'm already home with family only 3 hours or so anyway) and late afternoon events (rehearsals mainly) that meant I had to get home quickly.

We swapped the 25th and the 28th because the Central marching band is playing at the Pizza Bowl in Detroit on the 26th, and they have a rehearsal this afternoon. K left last night for Mt Pleasant, and will return Thursday sometime. So we'll be able to have a nice relaxed xmas eve, instead of the hectic and exhausting two services of music that we have been doing for years now.

Howard Taylor, that prince of a guy who draws Schlock Mercenary, has a (IMO very nice) Christmas album for you to download for free. I'm listening to it right now and it's very rich and nice.

From Howard's site:
Here, then, in three chunks, are the zip files for "A Star Shall Rise," by the Provo Utah Central Stake, Douglas Bush conducting, with Larry Tomkinson at the organ. It's a 57mb download, and it's yours for free.

I provide the links here because he buried them a bit and I wound up going to the source page to download, which he is concerned might cause them trouble in terms of excess bandwidth use.

But now that you've already downloaded them, here's his page talking about it..
