I mowed the lawn with the new beast on Monday. I finished in about 90 minutes. Usually that job (all parts of the lawn) takes me at least 2.5 hours. In addition due to the ZTR I had almost no trimming to do. I actually bought a rechargable electric push mower to do the trimming, but as I only had about 20 square feet of trimming to do, I took it back and I'll just use the string trimmer.
This doesn't really save me time as much as transfers it somewhere else. There's NEVER going to not be any work to do on the yard and gardens.
I also fertilized the front lawn for the first time in many years. I should probably fertilize the rest of the lawn too, perhaps excluding the easement but I may say what the heck and do that too; it'll run me probably $300 to do the yard excluding that bit, for another $150 or so I should be able to do that bit too. I am running the fertilizer a bit heavy since it's so depleted right now. I'm thinking about following up with some grass seed after the next rain.
