They wonder why I don't buy stuff there
Jan. 24th, 2015 07:23 pmWe're having a bit of trouble with a newly purchased refurb phone; power issues. The carrier suggested buying a new battery, they'll credit me for the cost, and allow return of the phone if it doesn't help.
So this evening I drove down and hit Target and Best Buy. Neither sells batteries AT ALL. They can order of course, but so can I and when it comes in I don't have to drive anywhere to get it. They jump all over selling every phone for every carrier around, and they can for some reason stock CASES for the phones (which I'm sure have a 90% margin on them, because I can buy them on eBay and sell them for what they're selling and make a 90% margin) but not a single battery (which probably don't have nearly the margin).
This is I think the 3rd or 4th time I've gone in to Best Buy to buy what I would think would be a pretty normal item, and they don't carry them.
Amazon set me up. I bought one from Anker - I am now trusting them for ALL things power related, USB cables, etc. The Samsung labelled products are likely as not counterfeits, but the Anker stuff is probably at least genuine Anker and they make good stuff.
