Retro gaming
Mar. 12th, 2015 08:12 amLast night I installed the SD card image for Emulation Station on a card and stuck it into my Raspberry Pi 2, and grabbed a few ROMs off the net. I plugged in a SNES type USB controller that I got from Amazon and we were off. I dropped out of gaming before the SNES so I have no experience on the things, but Tom immediately started owning Yoshi's Island. I bet he hasn't played it for 10 to 15 years but apparently the thumbs remember.
FWIW, for < $100 a Raspberry Pi 2 and a 32GB SD card, plus a few controllers (I'm planning on getting a pair of N64 controllers as well) looks like it could be a lot of fun.
