Quite good and compelling. I'll be continuing to read more of the series. It looks like the bad ratings on GoodReads are from people who just read the first installment. IMO there's really no point starting this if you aren't going to read all 5. Consider them a single book. Taken together they're fine, individually I think they're a bit thin.
