Book(s) finished: Don Quixote

★★★★☆
Took me the better part of a year to finish these two volumes on audiobook. This is not because the book was not good, but because it was from Librivox. The readers on this book range from pretty good to very poor. There was one reader who sounded like this was the most boring thing she'd ever done in her life, she was rushing and mumbling and sighing like she couldn't bear reading it anymore. There were guys apparently recording in a bathroom with a $2 microphone. Volume levels not equalized, mispronunciations weren't TOO bad but some readers had some words they just were wrong on.
Anyway, that's all beside the point. There's a reason this is a classic. Surely not everyone's thing but I quite enjoyed it, though it could perhaps be a bit shorter. Product of its time though, I think written almost as a serial.
