The last week
Jun. 5th, 2023 10:07 amI'd been deferred by the Red Cross from donating for several weeks because I'd exceeded the 12 month limit on red cell giving - turns out that even if giving plasma and platelets, there's some red in there and the vials of whole blood they take for testing count.
So on Thursday June 1 I was elibible again and went in to do platelets and plasma. There was a kit failure, bubbles were infusing into the tubing and they couldn't fix it so the entire donation was a failure. They also were unable to do the return so I MIGHT be deferred for another 6 weeks, however, their system allowed me to make an appointment this Thursday. I'll go in and see what happens. They may turn me away when I get there.
I went to the doctor on Friday to have a skin tag looked at, it was acting differently. He just shaved it off and sent it to pathology. Probably nothing.
Had a nice time at SEMGS in A2 on Hollywood on Saturday.
Sunday morning my temp crown popped off and I crunched it a bit. I just took it out and set it aside since I'm at the dentist at 11AM today anyway to get the permanent one in. Just a bit cold sensitive. It was 3 weeks since the temp went in, it should have been only 2 but Memorial day messed up the scheduling.
Still haven't gotten the kayaks in the water. The rivers are VERY low right now, we may wind up in the lakes which isn't as much fun. My outdoor buddy is going to be in Moab next weekend so it may be a while yet. Been bike riding plenty though.
