We had a lot of wind a few nights ago, and afterwards got it mostly cleaned up. I couldn't get the chainsaw started so I finally gave up and bought the Ryobi I had been wanting for a couple of years. It uses the same battery as the lawn mower so I didn't need to buy that.

One of the things that needed cutting was a bunch of VERY old limbs in a lilac bush. I need to get to town trimming up a lot of bushes, and it's tough to get in there, so I also ordered an electric lopper. I have a pole lopper that should work except you have to pull extremely hard to work it and sometimes even with all my weight on it, it won't cut. That's arriving today so I should be able to get to that. I need to read the book on pruning ornamental bushes. The lilac in the front yard needs new sprouts thinned, the rest need branches thinned. The viburnum in the front yard is once again gigantic and needs work.

We got an electric pizza oven on Monday and I ran it through the 20 minute initial burn to smoke off any manufacturing/shipping stuff, and I think we'll try it out today.

We're prepping for the week in Cheboygan for the Bridge Walk and other stuff. When I made the reservation last year they had a rule in place that you HAD to reserve for a full week (6 nights) Friday through Thursday. I don't know if anyone will even be there on Wednesday night, probably we won't. I just made the reservation for 2024 and they relaxed it to 4 nights, so we have it Friday through Tuesday morning in 2024. In any case we'll be just wandering around the northern Michigan area, possibly poking into the UP if we want to go to the shipwreck museum some day (maybe tourist at Castle Rock on the way).

We'll bring along the pizza oven and see what happens.

TV catchup

Inspired by how much I love Strange New Worlds, I'm spending a couple of hours every night trying to get caught up on, well, everything. Stuff I have to work on is not just Star Trek. Even watching several shows a day this is probably most of a year to brush through.

I have not really kept up on much TV for 30+ years. Most of it I have no interest in but I've always liked Star Trek in general, though some series had enough cringey episodes to make me stop watching, and it's easy for me to just not start up again after that.

Actively working on:
Strange New Worlds, just starting season 2 (I took a breather for a couple of weeks, just restarted last night)
The Animated Series, have watched just a few episodes

Next up probably in order:
TNG, still have some holes in my watched list in the last 2 seasons
Discovery, I'm just starting on season 2
Prodigy, have only watched like 2 episodes
Picard, haven't started at all
Enterprise, haven't watched at all
DS9, have watched random episodes

Outside of ST:
The Orville, have watched like 3 episodes so far
The Owl House, just starting, about 3 episodes in.
Latest episodes of Futurama and Strange Planet (meh)
I think I'm going to start The Expanse from scratch and go all the way through. I have watched into season 3 so far.
