Fun stuff - Yankee Air Museum
Apr. 4th, 2009 02:50 pmLast night while cleaning up after a food event at church, one of the guys said we should go out to the Yankee Air Museum today. They had their annual Polishing Day where everyone comes in, signs a "if I get hurt it's my own fault" waiver, and they hand you a couple of rags and a jar of Mcguire's metal polish and you get to work. I'm sure many people wouldn't appreciate standing under a B17 wing for an hour getting a stiff neck and sore shoulders, but these really are beautiful machines. And Tom and I both met some very nice people.
Tom and I went out, we worked under the nose gunner position on the B25, then I started on a spot under a B17 wing. I got about 5 square feet nice and shiny in an hour:
