Next stop: 10K!

I rolled the bike over 9000 on the way to work yesterday (didn't see it, it was dark). I'm now at 9015. Right on schedule, I figured sometime this week when I rolled over 8000.

10K is coming up in March!

It doesn't look quite as tidy now that the 50+ mile range home-built battery pack is installed.

I have been thinking about electric bikes recently, but as I never go more than about 30 miles a day, and I already average 18 MPH, there doesn't seem to be much point.

I think the big thing is, if I had to ride my normal 11 miles and couldn't take a shower at the other end, I'd probably want an electric assist so I didn't get there all sweaty. But if I did that, I'd have to find some other way to get over an hour of exercise a day.
