Blackout by Connie Willis

I guess I'm kind of committed to reading All Clear at this point, but man, this story did not grip me. Honestly, the characters are kind of ridiculous and the story is as well. It's like she was working to TRY to make it complicated for the sake of complexity.

There's a reason for the complexity, All Clear makes it, well, all clear.

I must admit that as both a WWII buff and a bit of an anglophile, I probably would have enjoyed both books even if they had not had, to my taste, a logical and satisfying resolution.

I hope so. Hopefully there's good twist, because I've had a feeling I know where this was going since about 1/3 of the way through Blackout. The entirety of the first book and the first 50 pages of the 2nd seem utterly pointless apart from being just a bunch of disjointed stories about people in WWII.
