RepRap XLR power connector bracket - turned out quite well.

My MG Prusa is kind of a rat's nest of wires, I really want to make the new one a lot cleaner.

The Chinese LM8UU linear bearings that I got are horrible. Most are actually OK but there are 2 or 3 of them that make a horrible clunking noise every few millimeters, and even with oil and a lot of breaking in (several hundred back and forth passes) they still rattle.

I'm actually thinking about printing some of these LM8UU equivalent PLA printed bushings by Triffid Hunter. He says they work great, better than the original PLA printed bushings and they make it trivial to move to good quality LM8UUs later.

Is that an XLR connector (i.e. a balanced microphone connector)?

If all you need are two or thee signal wires and ground (I don't remember if the 3rd pin is grounded to the shield or not), that sounds like a good choice. Cables and connectors should be readily available and easy to work with.

Yup, that's why it's been used as the RepRap standard power connector for several years. It carries ground, 12v at about 5 amps for the main printer, and power for the heated print bed which is 12 to 24 volts at 10 to 20 amps.

On most connectors none of the pins are internally tied to ground but on this standard they usually are wired that way.
