Friday night movie
Jan. 18th, 2008 09:30 pmLexi is watching 1776. I was cleaning but made the mistake of walking by. I swear, that's like the most entertaining movie of all time. I don't think there's a single moment of it that I could walk by and not wind up watching it for a half hour. I finally had to get back to work but I was thinking, I hope they show this movie to every kid at some point in the schools. Lexi is out there laughing every 10 seconds.

Date: 2008-01-19 03:04 pm (UTC)I normally only make Duckon and Berzerker anymore, and this year I'm not sure about Duckon.
Conventions are strictly social occasions for me, I have no interest in any of the programming, except for science content (hence Duckon) and possibly social programming.
And when I say "social occasion" I mean "sit in the GT suite and catch up with GT members." I've never really enjoyed just visiting other room parties. The conventions are essentially a chance for me to sit in the GT suite for a couple of days at the cost of $400 or so. I'm not really loaded enough to do that many times a year. Once or twice, OK.
This year I am actually hoping to go on at least one other significant family vacation other than Berzerker (which has been 100% of our travel and vacation for several years now), so I'm probably just going to save my money and save it for gas later in the year.

Date: 2008-01-19 05:11 pm (UTC)I miss Minneapolis, but I don't like 12-hour drives with the family, at least not for 2 days of convention. 'Taint worth it.
