Anyway, rich guy develops a fusion drive since it's needed to mine the asteroid belt, and he wants to save the world from its slow death by resource depletion. But his company is failing due to restrictive regulations of space development.
Another rich guy is trying to take over his company, and wants nothing more than power and money.
Rich guy #2 falls in love with copilot Amanda, but has sabotaged the maiden flight and he expects all to die. Amanda and the flight's geologist get engaged during the flight. They avert catastrophe after the radiation shielding fails due to the sabotage. Rich guy #1 dies of radiation poisoning, wills his control to pilot Poncho Lane. Poncho takes a seat on the board of directors.
