The balloon company next door to work hasn't make very many "shape" balloons for a few years, and some that they have have been pretty weak, but this Sugar Bear balloon this morning was kind of cool, and very recognizable.

"Can't get enough of Super Golden Crisp, it's got the crunch with punch!"

1) If I cycled round the corner and arrived at work to see that thing facing me, I'd wonder just what the hell I'd been eating/ingesting/drinking.

2) You evidently have much better weather than us just at the moment...

3) It is pretty cool, however...

2) Yes, Monday night it rained all night. Last night it was clear enough to get it down to 41*F, and I was at the telescope at 4AM.

1) It could be worse:

Super "Golden" Crisp indeed. Remember when cereal wasn't ashamed to tell you it was all sugar?

Super Sugar Crisp
Sugar Pops

and of course Calvin's favorite, Chocolate Frosted Sugar Bombs, which never existed by that name but by Ghod, they SHOULD have.

According to Wikipedia, it wasn't "Super Golden Crisp", it was "that Sugar(/Golden) Crisp". I think in later years they called it "super golden crisp".

Heck yeah, one of these days I'm just going to put on a Looney Tunes DVD and eat a whole box of Froot Loops right out of the box until my mouth is raw, just like I used to. Sounds like a good SEMGS event!

I very distinctly remember Super Sugar Crisp and Super Golden Crisp. Wikipedia is wrong on that one.

Nope, that's the 80's version. They're not wrong, just incomplete.

Neat! I particularly like the house in the background -- *my* those balloons are large. Floating by in a parade doesn't provide the same sense of scale. (As [livejournal.com profile] jebra can tell you, I have serious problems with width and depth perception.)

Well, there are some perception issues going on. The balloon is about midway between me and the house, so divide its size by two.

Also, these aren't parade balloons, they're hot air people-carriers.
