One week to go
Sep. 28th, 2008 03:14 pmIf you thought about kicking in a few bucks towards my CROP walk, time is running short, and I'm nowhere near my $250 goal. It'd be great if a few people could kick in even 5 or 10 bucks. So far I've gotten, uh, zero dollars from the LJ gang.
CROP/CWS is currently putting tons of money and effort into hurricane relief, both in the US and in other countries in the region; Haiti alone has gotten hit with FOUR hurricanes this year (so far) and life there isn't easy to start with. They also continue to do disaster relief and bootstrap programs for people all over the world.
If you think you can spare a few bucks, click here. Our walk is next Sunday afternoon.
If you want to see what CROP is all about first, check here. CROP is mostly about making PERMANENT changes to people's lives, to help them develop local infrastructure to make their lives a little less difficult, or to allow them to spend some time developing an economy rather than spending all their time on simple subsistence.
