Senior night football game.

Just returned from the Chelsea football game, where it was senior night (last regular game of the season). Parents of seniors are called on the field. It was fun, and the seniors definitely had fun with it. L was wearing a dress made for the occasion by J, who really made a big effort to get it done in time, and it looked great.
Band is very important to L, and getting a good video of this event was the immediate impetus for ordering the camcorder when I did.
I just hooked it up to the 42" in the living room. Wow. That is incredible. What I wouldn't give to get all of my video looking that good. Definitely very happy with the purchase and glad I got it in time to capture this.
Technically speaking:
There was little wind tonight, and on the field it was fine, sound was good. But as I was leaving I shot one clip that had a bit of a breeze, and there was the definite beginning of rumbling wind noise, even with that tiny breeze. An external microphone is definitely in the cards, including a wind screen, considering how horrible the wind noise is on most of my Berzerker videos, it's very distracting. Also, for Berzerker at least, a DIY steadycam mount; the camera is so tiny that it's difficult to hold real still.
Here's a frame from the video. It looks very clear when played on a TV. Trying to capture a single frame from video results in either blurring or interlacing artifacts; in this instance I opted for the artifacts to try to get across the clarity of the photo, but even so it doesn't quite do it justice. Click the image for full size. Pretty good for a video frame capture.
