Flash sales
Nov. 19th, 2008 07:42 amIt sort of looks like Dinotte Lighting puts their bike lights on sale only for early risers. I bought a taillight from them at 6:30 yesterday morning, and it was off sale by 9AM. It was on sale again this morning at 7AM, and now it's off again. So I guess if you want one, get up a little early and save $30.

Date: 2008-11-19 01:30 pm (UTC)I read a few reviews, and I was really identifying with the people saying "$130 seems like a lot of money to pay for a taillight, but at $20 to $30 each for taillights that last 2 or 3 years typically, the Dinotte will pay for itself soon enough."
I'm running with two $25 taillights now, and I lost my $35 taillight to a cheap mounting bracket earlier this year. I got the 140L for $105, so it's not far off already.
Besides, every single review says it's simply far and away the best taillight available.

Date: 2008-11-19 10:13 pm (UTC)but as far as building something nice like that, waterproof, shockproof, with a 3 watt LED driver and multimode driver circuitry, I don't think it's happening on a one-off basis for anything like $100. I'd be embarassed to ask him to make anything of the sort for less than $500 or so.
