Power outage: good and bad
Jul. 21st, 2006 10:22 amWe were without power from Monday night until Wednesday afternoon.
Good: I got some stuff done, including staining the upper half of the deck. The lower half gets quickly messed up by the hundreds of birds that hang out there, so I won't bother cleaning it until I know for sure I'm going to be able to stain it pretty quickly.
The bad is that the internet service was out the whole time, and I didn't get the dyes ordered that I should have for Berzerker. I should have ordered them before the last minute, but that's not the PFRC way :-) I could have ordered them Wednesday I suppose. Now it's Friday, and I'm deciding between having them shipped to someone in Houghton, and just punting, using some leftovers from previous experiments, and calling this an experimentation year.
I was going to put together a few spud guns for this anyway; maybe we can have a spud firing range.
The water bottle rockets are also uncertain at this point. I tried making a launch stand but was unable to get a good O-ring seal. I'll probably make another attempt this weekend, and bring stuff along to mess with anyway.
