Voting, FWIW
Nov. 6th, 2006 09:44 pmCrap, I just looked up my polling location on Publius, and we're now using Diebold machines instead of mark/sense.
I guess I'll vote absentee in the future, but it's too late now. I'll cross my fingers. But if those Diebold machines don't go, I'll be sending for a paper ballot from now on.
The most useful piece of mail spam I got this season was a piece that said Sharon Renier will support Gay Marriage (capitalized just like that). That's great, I thought, I'll vote for her then. Wait, it's from her opponent! Whatever, it's info I can use. Even though at this point I wouldn't vote for a republican running for dog catcher, so I guess it didn't really change my vote.
As discussed at SEMGS last weekend, the gay marriage thing is turning out to be a good deal for dems. It's polling as a wash for republicans, and they're wasting their time and money going on about it instead of going after things that might actually do them some good, so here's hoping they'll keep going on about it.
