Home improvement 2
Dec. 6th, 2006 10:36 pmI was working from home today; I decided I'm going to see if my director will agree to two days a week of this. I actually get more done when working from home; I email to get answers instead of walking to people's desks, which always results in 30 minutes of gabbing.
Took a couple hour break for lunch and ran out on home improvement shopping. I picked up a framing nailer; Harbor Freight had one on sale for $79, and I figured, what the heck, give it a try. For the amount I will use it, it'll probably be fine. It actually looks pretty much identical to any other nailer I've used. It shoots 8/10 ga, 21* nails (they were pushing the 28*, but I think 21* is more standard). After working on the King's basement, I resolved not to undertake any serious project again without a framing nailer.
I ran to Lowes and picked up the chandelier that I mentioned before, and got it up this evening. The box indicated the wrong kind of bulb, so it hasn't lit up yet, but it's all wired. I have a little drywall work to do to patch up the old holes, but I'm going to leave that until I'm mudding downstairs, and do it all at once rather than mix up a little mud for a tiny spot.
