A nice photograhic experience
May. 10th, 2009 02:46 pmI used the new SLR (Canon 500D) to shoot about 500 frames at the wedding last night, and 100 frames at church this morning (baptism and confirmation).
FINALLY I have a camera that does exactly what I expect it to do, instantly, without hesitation, focuses and exposes well. The previous SLR was certainly great in its time; when I bought it, it was certainly the best camera I'd ever owned, but it had its drawbacks.
Batteries; after 500 frames last night, most with flash, the camera's battery was still reading totally full and the flash was still charging fast though I don't know how full the batteries were.
It's so nice to take pictures without being constantly irritated by the camera doing something stupid or being slow.
There was a lot of Canon presence last night; in fact it's all I saw other than point-and-shoot cameras. I made the mistake of putting Mike's 10-22mm on my camera, and in 5 minutes it had moved from "that looks interesting" to "Yeah, I want that". Another piece of glass for the wish list.
