Wasps all gone
Aug. 11th, 2009 08:46 amWent up at 8AM this morning with tyvek suit on, but it wasn't necessary. Nothing up there but wasp corpses. T and I pulled down the plastic containing all the dead wasps, rolled it up and threw it in a trash bag. Once down and I could see in there, I found a lot more comb and pulled it out too. I think I got the area pretty clean. There's some dust all around but it's non-toxic.
The opening in the drywall is probably close to 2 feet long. I taped a window of clear plastic over it so we will be able to tell if more wasps move in. I'm going to go caulk up the hole they got in through later this week, after I'm sure they've all gone. Then I'm going to wait until it gets cold and rip down the drywall in that area, make sure the whole area is clean, and fix the insulation and drywall.
