Now 1.5TB drives are the cheapest per GB. WD 1.5T green is going for $119 shipped, a little cheaper than $85 for 1TB.

There are cheaper ones (Hitachi 1TB is $65 with rebate) but none that I really trust.

I'm trying to consolidate all my MP3s (including 380GB of audiobooks) in one place so that I can finally build a comprehensive database, probably using Songbird(*). I already put the audiobooks on a 1TB drive, but I think by the time I gather everything together from a bunch of different sources including podcasts, etc, I'd be probably 80% full on a 1TB drive and I don't think it's that good of an idea to start out 80% full.

(*)Songbird is still lacking good podcast support, but it's in the roadmap for October release so I'm probably going to go with it anyway. The only other competitor, MediaMonkey, has better podcast support, but it's still not as good as I'd like and A) they don't seem ready to improve it, and B) it's closed source so I can't do anything about it if I wanted to. Moreover, Songbird does a far superior job of syncing with my Sansa Fuze than MM.
