Surprise! RE: Gimp
Sep. 17th, 2009 08:50 amI hadn't used the Gimp (open source image manipulation software) for several years, because it just didn't replace Photoshop and I had several copies of Photoshop Elements lying around. Well, I got a new machine at work a few weeks ago, and didn't have a PSE CD at work, needed to do some quick editing, so I downloaded a copy of Gimp.
The current windows version of Gimp is actually pretty decent. In any case, a lot less confusing than the last one I used. It still is nowhere near a photoshop replacement, but it's a competent image editor for probably what the majority of people need.
