New webcam

I bought a Logitech C525 webcam yesterday. Excellent. It's far superior to my prior webcam in every way; excellent low light performance, looks good, mounts great, autofocus, 720p high def. It was $60. Microsoft has a cheaper one with similar specs but in the YouTube videos I saw, this one performed a lot better, and I also had a $50 Best Buy gift certificate that I got in lieu of an iPod shuffle that I won in a PayPal giveaway and didn't want, so I wound up paying $13 or so for the cam. Since I never go in to Best Buy, I was relieved to finally find something that I actually wanted that I could spend the thing on.

Long day at church

Got to church at 9:30 this morning. Just got back. Choir practice, then church, then some frenzied prep work, then wiring a plug on a portable air conditioner in the sanctuary, then the community picnic until 6, then VBS until 8. Several days this past week were pretty much spent at church from after work until mid evening.

Yesterday I hardly did any church stuff. Instead I spent 4 hours standing in the pond in the sun cutting out the overgrown grass. That job still isn't done but I physically couldn't do it anymore.

Jenn's spent even more hours doing church stuff for the last 2 weeks, so she's at least as happy as I am to have today behind us.

Ow. Gonna just sit for a while.

Gimme the good stuff

Gave up on the cheap internet experiment. 1M down 128K up is too painful. Taking 1.5 days to download a game (Portal 2), being so slow that even voice chat breaks up, having to stop one thing to finish another, having to run around the house and kick people off of other services to do something, all too much of a pain.

Back up the tier 2 from Charter, which is 12M down 1M up.
