So, I ordered some toner cartridges off eBay for the church's new printer. Specifically a bundle containing 2 toner carts and a drum. I got an email this morning containing a one-day-only discount code for 15% off at their website.

I figured "what the heck, we'll use the supplies eventually" and headed to their site. The bundle that I bought from them for $76 shipped on eBay is $135 ("on sale!") at their site, so $115 with the coupon. I think I'll pass.

I'm quite certain that I felt the quake today. I was at my desk and suddenly I felt a movement that was completely different than what I've felt in that building before (the 2nd floor is subject to structural vibration normally, but I sit within 5 feet of a support beam so my chair normally does not move). It was a lateral shake (normal movement is up and down as people walk, never side to side) and at a frequency of right around 1hz at a guess. It was at the right time and lasted maybe 30 seconds though it could have gone on for a while before I noticed it.

The new printer with the missing connector that I mentioned yesterday, they're going to ship me a new printer with the connector, including a return shipment label, so no money out of my pocket and no time without a printer.
Their original offer was to take it to a repair center in either Wayne or Lansing. I told them I didn't feel it was fair for me to take 1/2 a day of time and drive 140 miles to fix a defective printer that they built, so they offered this which is more than fair.
I've always been happy with Brother printers. They're very cheap to run and reasonable to buy, and they seem to run forever.
