Last night I pulled an all-nighter to do the migration of my servers from a company data center to AWS.

Everything went smoothly.

There were some issues discovered after activation but they turned out to be either pretty minor and easy to fix, or were there before and just not noticed (and also not show-stoppers).

This is pretty much my last project for TR.

I have another but it's relatively minor. I'm going to have to do the work then leave it for others to deploy as it involves servers in two other countries and I really doubt that it can be done before end of year.

The build-up to today was a lot more work than I had really planned on. I worked pretty steady full-time days for the last 2 months (I did take a few what amounted to half days) then when up against the wall worked 12 and 14 hour days 3 out of 4 days of Thanksgiving weekend. Glad that's over.

We had a going-away party last night for a coworker that was with the company for I think 24 years. Lots of expats showed up so it was nice seeing them.

I ordered a few "8 zillion things to do in the US" type books and an updated road atlas. Just for pleasure reading this winter, and to drop in to the as-yet-theoretical RV we'll start shopping for soon I think.
