That roadblock averted
Jan. 30th, 2023 05:44 pmI had to report for jury duty this morning. I was a bit concerned because Capricon starts Thursday and I only go to two conventions a year anymore and I hate to miss one.
Happily I was not selected, though one of our friends was selected.
Anyway that is out of the way and the only thing I missed was Monday morning yoga.
Yesterday I got the rear rack for my new motorcycle, and just like everything else I bought for it from China, I had to modify it somewhat to use it. So far only one of the 5 things that I bought did not need to be modified, and one of the 5 things (windscreen) is completely unusable and I'm waiting (because of Chinese New Year) for a response on what they are going to do about it.
If they do not offer a solution I will consider seeing if my credit card company will deny the charge. If they offer a solution that involves me having to ship it back to China, I will have to investigate but it's possible that it wouldn't be economical to do so, it could easily cost close to $100 for me to do that and it's only a $120 windscreen. If in some way I wind up keeping it, I will try to make a new bracket.
Buying all this stuff from China wasn't my first choice but nobody in the US has any accessories for this bike at all. My bad for buying a Chinese bike that's only been sold in the use for less than a year.
