Another long ride
May. 22nd, 2023 07:29 amOn Saturday I went and joined some former co-workers and some of their friends on an out-and-back ride of the KalHaven trail. It's about 33 miles one way, with the side trip through town for lunch at Clementine's in the middle it was about 70 miles total. That's at least 10 miles past where I'm happy to be riding, the last few miles were acceptable but my legs didn't have any more hills in them, so I just plodded along. Still it was a fun day. Two days later I'm just about recovered.
Sunday was an FCB concert in a new venue. I think it was very good, though I was sitting up front near where I placed the recording gear and it was a smidge loud. The room is acceptable; no resonance but not echo-y either, kind of on the hot side acoustically so things got loud. The euphonium soloist was excellent. It was nice hearing about the successes of some of Damien's students (the soloist was one), he's making the world better one touched life at a time.
Today Tom will be coming up, we have a new side window for his car and summer tires to install.
The lawn REALLY needs mowing today. I should have done it a few days ago.
