New vehicle
Sep. 12th, 2023 08:24 amWe plan to start traveling the US at some point hopefully soon, and the original plan was an RV. However I just couldn't bring myself to buy an RV. Getting what is essentially a heavy truck that would be very expensive to maintain, requiring specialty mechanics, was only useful 2 or 3 weeks a year, and left us with no vehicle at our destinations, I just couldn't make it make sense to me.
So I spent several days doing research and we wound up yesterday with this F150. It's pretty nice. I need to get used to driving a truck, I haven't since moving off the farm really. And even then a modern F150 is what I remember about an F350 being. With the crew cab and longer than stock bed it's also very long, I have to nose up over the grass to make the garage door fairly accessible. I can't imagine trying to maneuver one with an 8 foot bed around (this one is 6.5 feet).
Next up over the winter/spring I guess we need to start looking at trailers. Nothing too huge.
I really do need to talk to the township about that variance for a 3rd garage bay.
