Ice storm this morning...cool!

OK, ice drizzle, but enough to make a nice coating. Should be pretty when the sun comes up.
My bike was all shiny when I got to work, including the tires! So were my jacket, helmet, and pants, and I crunched when I walked. It's making a puddle in my cube right now.
I actually could barely walk in the driveway before I left; it was a skating rink. I don't think the roads were that bad, I didn't see any cars in the ditch. I couldn't really tell because of my tires, and I never put my foot down on the ground the whole time. Judging from the dust that has been getting in my mouth every time someone passed me for the last few days, there was plenty of salt already on the roads.

Date: 2006-03-03 09:45 pm (UTC)The most dangerous part of the ride was walking to the garage; I slipped several times and nearly fell. Once I got on the bike I couldn't tell it was slippery anymore.
Some folks at work were amazed that I rode my bike. I told them "Of course, I certainly wouldn't have driven my CAR on this stuff!" Probably true too; as slippery as it was I probably would have worked from home or at least waited a few hours to go in if I had to drive.
