Cool balloon

This balloon was up for testing this morning as I rode in to work. Usually I photograph Cameron's balloons from the window near my desk, but this looked cool enough to walk around.
I have taken quite a few balloon photos that I haven't posted to the album. I should fix that. In any case, here's the whole album with another photo of this balloon plus many more.

Unfortunately, special shapes didn't really get started until after I'd moved away from Albuquerque.

On the other hand, somewhere I still have the prints from an entire roll of film I shot of balloons flying over my parent's house when I was in college. I'm pretty sure it was from the Saturday or Sunday mass ascension at the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, not one of the often smaller weekday events.

Of course having grown up in Albuquerque during the 1970's and 1980's, I often find seeing only a few (<10) balloons in sky a lonely looking sight. But I'm biased. Seeing hundreds at a time can do that for someone.
