So we found some crufty old chemical missiles in Iraq, but the administration is downplaying them and saying to pay them no mind, "these are not the WMD's you're looking for." They predate 1991.

First thought that crossed my mind: what are the odds that they don't want the story dug too deep because WE supplied those missiles to Saddam?

If I've heard correctly, Hussein and his minions -- what the news media calls today "insurgents" -- killed off an entire town of Kurds using just 15 shells, and this find is 500 shells.

As for "and the US supplied the shells," I can't find anything polite to say about it crossing your mind as the "first thing."

Allow me to analyze this "theory" anyway. If it was the US, it wasn't Bush I or Bush II or Reagan who supplied WMD to the crazy next-door neighbors of the Saudis and Jordanians, was it?. So that would mean -- that President Bush is in a "cover up" to defend some Democratic president?
