Judas Unchained by Peter F. Hamilton

Damn, that was really something. And long. This guy writes long books. Very well written though, and not confusing despite the number of characters and the number of simultaneous and interrelated threads.

Misspent Youth, a precursor novel to Pandora's Star is about the only Hamilton novel that I've found lacking - and maybe that was just me expecting something more/different.

I've never met the guy, but I see that he is author GoH at Eastercon next year, in Birmingham only an hour north of here.

Guess that makes my plans for Easter next year...

Since a lot of friends will be going, I'm also planning to hit Redmption next year in Coventry, about the same distance from here.

It's a couple of weeks after Capricon, so that'll be a busy month...

And yes, it's a media con - my very first one, but comes well recommended.
