Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom by Cory Doctorow

That was pretty cool. The story explores a society that develops after scarcity and death have both been eliminated. Nobody, even the lowest non-performing people, are really lacking anything, and your standing is entirely based on "Whuffie" points, which are awarded when people admire you or your work or actions, and taken away when people don't like them.

This has been sitting on my reader for a while, I figured I should read it at some point. I'm glad I finally got around to it. In an unusual occurrence these days, I found myself staying up an extra hour last night to finish it. That shouldn't matter with the DST time change this morning, but my circadian clock doesn't have a reset switch so I got up at the same time anyway.

I just recently finished that one too, and also liked it. Have downloaded another one of his (title is escaping me at the moment) and looking forward to reading it.
